How to access original documents

Visitors to The London Archives who want to view any original material from our collections (archive documents or images) must hold a History Card.

A History Card is not required to use:

Our online catalogue
Digitised or printed documents
Websites like Ancestry or FindMyPast on our computers
The reference library in the Information Area
Our exhibitions or events

Please note that History Card registration takes place on our catalogue website. You will need to complete your registration in person at The London Archives
