Plan your visit to The London Archives
The London Archives is free to visit and everyone is welcome.
Our large, light study and research spaces provide a great environment for researching London's archives, or for your own personal study. There is plenty of table space and free Wi-Fi. Our exhibitions and displays are a great way to start exploring London's history and our events, workshops and sessions for schools will bring layers of excitement and interest to your journey into the past.
The majority of the archives in our collections can be accessed and used by anyone, free of charge. We'll quite literally put history into your hands, whether it's an eighteenth century map or a Victorian workhouse register. If you want to access original material from the archives during your visit, you will need to sign up for our History Card. You won't need this if you want to undertake personal study or visit our exhibitions and events.
