London City of the Dead - Create Your Own Grim Reaper

Artist-led Workshop

Hands-on workshop inspired by Agustin Coll’s drawings of London’s Magnificent Seven cemeteries. Create your own Angel of Death to take home.

Are you fascinated by London’s many Victorian cemeteries? Do you take the same approach to collage as Victor Frankenstein would? Come take the graveyard shift at The London Archives this Halloween for a creative collage illustration workshop led by artist/illustrator Agustin Coll.

Participants will be encouraged to look at maps and photos of their favourite cemeteries sourced from collections at The London Archives and create their own interpretation of the Angel of Death. From the hulking to the creepy and to the colourful reaper, it doesn't necessarily need to be full goth but all-out grimness is very much encouraged!

The workshop will focus on exploring basic collage illustration techniques with the idea of creating a piece of original artwork that attendees can take home. Materials will be provided.

About the artist:

Agustin Coll is a London-based artist and illustrator. His art infuses architecture with a playful anthropomorphic quality that expresses his relationship with the built environment and those who inhabit it.
