Confessions of a London River Hunter

Hear author John Rogers discussing London's hidden rivers - uncovering forgotten waterways, history and stories from his latest book.

This special evening event is an opportunity to join John Rogers for an illustrated talk exploring the hidden waterways featured in his new book, Confessions of a London River Hunter.

Covering some of London's lesser-known rivers and streams, from the Philley Brook and Yeading Brook to the Wogebourne, Stonebridge Brook and the forgotten tributaries of the River Fleet, John will share the stories, landscapes and history that continue to shape the capital.

About the Speaker:

John Rogers is a writer and filmmaker based in East London. He is the author of This Other London: Adventures in the Overlooked City, Welcome to New London: Journeys and Encounters in the Post-Olympic City, and The Black Path.

What to expect:

This event will be taking place in-person only at The London Archives on a Thursday evening. The London Archives will close at 4.30pm, and will reopen for ticket holders at 5.40pm. The talk will last approximately 60 minutes, and will be followed by Q&A. Your ticket includes a drink on arrival.
